Hario "Mizudashi" Coffee Pot - Mizudashi is a Japanese cold brewing method used to make tea or coffee. The term itself translates to "water brewing" or "cold brewing." In the context of coffee, it involves steeping coarsely ground coffee in cold water for an extended period, usually 12 to 24 hours, to create a smooth, less acidic brew with a delicate and less bitter flavour compared to hot brewing methods.
How to make your own Colombian cold brew coffee:
Simply add 50g of coffee into the inner mesh-lined filter, add 500ml of water, place in the fridge for 12+ hours depending on your taste preferences. And that's it! Remove the filter with the coffee grinds. And it's ready to drink and enjoy. Store in the fridge until finished.
What to make with cold brew coffee:
Cold brew is deliberately sweeter and less acidic than coffee brewed using hot water and is the ideal method for cold coffee drinks. It can be drunk as it is straight from the fridge, or with any cold milk of your choice, combined to create a coffee flavoured cocktail or mocktail, or stirred into a pudding like a tiramisu, used in a marinade or reduced to a syrup...the options are endless.
